The Institute for Responsible Citizenship - is accepting applications for its summer leadership program for black male college sophomores. Participants receive high-level internships, take leadership courses, and attend roundtable discussions with influential leaders. Admitted students also join a network of talented black male leaders. Bank of America Student Summit - Do you know a high school junior or senior who is committed to making a positive impact in the community? Encourage them to apply to Bank of America’s Student Leaders® Program. Accepted applicants will attend a week-long summit in Washington, D.C. and be granted an eight-week paid summer internship at a local nonprofit. Applications are being accepted through January 25, 2012, so encourage your juniors and seniors to apply today! Bank of America’s Student Leaders® Program*is open to eligible high school juniors and seniors only. Application deadline is January 25, 2012 This program is seeking leaders who are high school juniors and seniors in the US and secondary students in sixth form college or college of further education in the UK. As a Student Leader, you will participate in:
~An eight-week paid internship at a nonprofit/charitable organization

We are encouraging all parents to attend Adult Bible Study/Prayer and Praise with Pastor Smith on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. as we cultivate an evening for adults/parents and teens to come and grow through the study of the scriptures together.

Education and Training

    Good Touch Bad Touch Program~ Body Safety Program by Fairfax County Family Services Department - FBCV Parents, we are offering a free program in collaboration with Fairfax County Department of Family Services Good Touch Bad Touch ® Program, which is a body safety program that teaches children (K-6th Grade) what a good touch and a bad touch is. Thank you for responding with your interest to participate. Please download the permission slip and, if you are interested in having your child attend this informative and equipping program, pleae submit a completed permission slip to the FBCV church office, attention Rev. Maxwel, by January 23, 2012. For details download the flyer and invite other parents in our community to attend.

  • "Partnering with Power to Empower Our Youth" - The Fairfax County Department of Family Services, Parenting Education Programs is enrolling families for several upcoming parenting classes. These programs are special in that both parents and children attend the classes although children are taught in different classrooms than parents. Classes are for Fairfax County residents; meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m.; are free; and include dinner and child care. Classes meet once a week for 12, 13, or 21 weeks depending on the curriculum.
